Orchards & Pick-Your-Owns
Agritourism offers fantastic educational opportunities for people of all ages. However, there's a unique satisfaction in getting hands-on by personally harvesting apples, pears, peaches, and berries. When autumn arrives, the landscape undergoes a transformation with changing leaves and the gradual wane of the summer's intense heat. In Vermont, the local orchards become abundant with apples, pumpkins, and more. The tradition of hand-picking apples is a common practice and as you savor a pumpkin spiced latte and explore the scenic back roads for breathtaking views and vibrant foliage, consider visiting a nearby orchard to make the most of a quintessential fall day in Vermont. And let's not forget, indulging in a warm cider donut (or even an entire bag of them) is a quintessential autumn experience that truly encapsulates the spirit of the season.
This year, we suffered from a late frost which might impact the availability of U-Pick orchards for self-picking. While there will still be many of beautiful orchards to visit and apples to eat, check before you go!
