Take a hike up to the Ethan Allen Tower in Burlington's New North End for majestic views and a unique piece of Vermont history.
Lake Champlain
Lake Champlain is the center-point of Burlington’s summer outdoor allure. Whether you prefer kayaking, sailing, or floating and relaxing on a boat, the lake offers a number of ways to enjoy its beautiful waters. Lake Champlain is 120 miles long and 10 miles wide from the Burlington bay. One of the best ways to see multiple vantage points of the lake is the Burlington Bike Path which follows the lake’s shoreline, connecting Oakledge Park with North Beach , the Burlington Waterfront, and continues through the town of Colchester and into Lake Champlain on a man made causeway. Burlington is positioned within an hour’s drive of five of Vermont's favorite ski resorts, making it a perfect home base for skiers and snowboarders. Stowe Mountain Resort, Sugarbush Resort, Smugglers' Notch Resort, Bolton Valley, and Cochrans Ski Area each offer unique skiing and snowboarding experiences, from family-friendly slopes to challenging tracks and glades.
