The Waterfront

The Burlington Waterfront is a natural draw for visitors and residents alike. In the 1980s, then-mayor Bernie Sanders initiated the development of Waterfront Park. By keeping this large, signature space open and available to the public, the city’s eternal connection to Lake Champlain is ensured.
